Elkay EFBLIVSC Recessed Stainless Steel Filter Cabinet for Liv Bottle Fillers

Elkay’s non-refrigerated version of the H2O Liv already comes with a filter drawer that is installed just below the water dispenser.  However, the refrigerated version does not come with a filter drawer since the filter is supposed to be installed with the remote chiller.  The LKP-EFBLIVSC kit allows for the installation of a filter drawer below the refrigerated version of the Liv, like it is with the non-refrigerated unit.  But if you want to have consistently cool water, you will need extra water line so that you can run the water first to the filter, then to the chiller and finally back to the water dispenser.  Some of our customers cut this step and just route the water through the chiller, then to the filter and then into the adjacent EZH2O bottle filler.  However, a filter should always be installed before the chiller for two reasons:  

1. The remote chiller could be up to 20 feet from the dispenser.  That extra piping (especially if not insulated) gives the water an opportunity to warm-up on its way to the dispenser.  If you also add a filter in that line, that creates more space and time for the water to lose its coolness.  
   
   
2. When not using the unit, the water sitting in the filter will get warmer.  That water will need to be flushed out before cold water is dispensed.  

Note that instead of purchasing this filter drawer, you could purchase the non-refrigerated unit, which comes with the filter drawer (either the residential H2O Live water dispenser, or commercial H2O Live water dispenserl, and also purchase a remote chiller separately.   You will also need to purchase additional tubing to connect the dispenser, the filter and the chiller.  This can be provided by the plumber installing the water dispenser.
