Dyson continues to lead through innovation with the newest member of the Airblade family: The "9kJ." Previous models introduced improvements in sound level (the "dB" was quieter than ever), in space used (the "V" was the most compact dryer to date and shaped like a V), and in function (the TAP added faucet functionality to a hand dryer). So what, you ask, does "9kJ" stand for? The newest name focuses on efficiency.

9kJ refers to 9 kilojoules, the amount of energy required to dry your hands. To put that in perspective, Dyson estimates that this dryer will cost just $19/year* to operate in ECO mode!

Speaking of energy, this hand dryer is available in two models: the HU03-LV which uses a standard electrical hook-up (110-120V) and the HUO3-HV which takes high voltage (208-240V). Note that both models use the same amount of energy, and perform the same with equal dry times.

HINT: If you're not sure which model you need, you probably need the LV.

Performance-wise, the HU03 has two modes. ECO and MAX.

ECO mode is quieter (77 dB), but still dries your hands in 12 seconds.
MAX mode is faster (10 second dry time), but still just as quiet as the HU02 (Model "V").

	FAQ: I want the most powerful model of 9kJ. Should I buy the HU03-HV?
High Voltage vs Low Voltage: This may be the most common question asked about the Dyson Airblade hand dryer line. And while it might seem that high voltage might be more powerful (or low voltage might use less energy), in fact, both models use exactly the same amount of power and perform equally well. Dry times are identical.

To further enhance efficiency, Dyson has redesigned the not only the blade apertures,

but also the entire airflow path. Significant gains were achieved by redesigning the HEPA filter for less air resistance as well as rearranging the entire internal structure for a more direct, inline layout.
