The World Dryer AirForce hand dryer is our top pick for a good high speed hand dryer at a great price.  It's also extremely energy efficient.  The Airforce, like most high speed hand dryers (10 - 15 second dry time) makes more noise than regular hand dryers (25+ seconds) such as the World Dryer Model A .  The AirForce hand dryer not as loud with hands present, however, as other high-speed dryers such as the Xlerator.  The AirForce does not have a heating element which is what makes it so energy efficient.  The air is warmed by the motor, so it is not cold, but it is cooler than other dryers.

• Sound level: at 85.1 dB with hands present, the Airforce is not as loud as some other high-speed dryers.  But if noise is a major concern, you may want a more traditional option like the World Dryer Model A Hand Dryer which runs at 75 dBs and is a very good dryer.

The Excel Dryer Xlerator Hand Dryer is larger, more durable, 2 seconds faster, a little louder and more expensive than the Airforce.

Architectural Specifications

Airforce™ Model J, J4, and J48 hand dryers shall be manufactured by or for World Dryer Corporation. Dryer assembly to be housed in a die cast Aluminum housing finished in epoxy paint that is incorporated with SteriTouch® antimicrobial additive or housing finished in chrome plating. Motor shall be universal brush type operating at 34000 RPM and shall be thermally protected. Dryer shall be activated by an automatic active infrared sensor controlled by a circuit board with one second run-on time and 30 second vandal shut-off. Control board to have conformal coating. Dryer shall provide a 40° F temperature rise, and PC/ABS internal housing components to be V0 or V5 flame retardant. Hand dryers shall be listed under re-examination service of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. - Patent Pending.
